Its purpose is to promote the interests of its Member Orchestras and their musicians, to enhance communications among those orchestras and with the Federation, its Locals and its Conferences, and to pursue the general welfare and artistic well-being of its members. Free and open to all ROPA members!Ventrilo is group voice communication software. See www.ventrilo.com for free downloads and more information. Simply download the Ventrilo program, install; then configure with the following server information: host: vent1.light-speed.com port: 8875 ROPA members may log on and converse with each other. There are no time limits - the cost of the server does not increase with usage. The only limitation is the number of simultaneous connections, which is currently 10 users, at no cost to ROPA (this service is donated by the webmaster). Private channels can be made available on request. For best results, a headset is recommended, but any sound setup with a microphone ought to work. A regular phone headset will not work: you'll need a computer headset with either USB or two 1/8" jacks to hook into your computer sound interface.
